Aktau

Located on the shores of the Caspian Sea, Aktau – “White Mountain” has taken its name from the cliffs overlooking the sea. Built from scratch in 1960s, the city was created in the middle of a desert, due to the area’s rich oil & gas reserves.
Waking in the boulevard, you can enjoy the well-constructed pedestrian road, feed the swans perching on the shore and try out local food and drinks in the nearby local restaurants, offering the most delicious traditional meals.
Visit the one of a type underground mosque – Becket Ata Mosque to see the amazing landscape where this religious monument was built in the desert. You will be surprised from the generosity of the pilgrims, who bring the food along and enjoy to share it with the other visitors.
If you travel with kids, or you just want to make your inner kid happy, definitely pay a visit to Tetysblu Theme Park, to enjoy the slides, rollercoaster and pool. 
Last but never a least, there is a diving center in Aktau, where you can dive into the turquoise waters of the Caspian Sea and feel one with the marine life.
