Podgorica

One of the smallest capitals of Europe, Podgorica is a modest city. Yet while visiting Montenegro, it is considered necessary for many to visit the capital city, as it is very close to the most popular cities of Montenegro, such as Kotor and Budva.

Start exploring the capital of Montenegro, Podgorica from Stara Varoš, Old Town of the city, located on the south of Ribnica River. Visit the ruins of Nemanjin Grad fortress and explore the old stone bridge over the River Ribnica nearby the fortress.
Head out to the city center after the time in old part of the city, to enjoy the selection of restaurants, cafes and bars as well as the best shopping experience in the country. The main street, called the Independence Square hosts many governmental buildings, universities and schools.
Walk along the riverside of Morača river and see the Millennium Bridge, that is one of the most famous landmarks of Podgorica.
Visit the old capital Cetinje, that is located just 40 minutes away from Podgorica by car. Here the majority of Montenegro’s cultural and historical monuments are located.
