The collection of rocks that are world famous rock drawings are exhibited in open-air Museum of Petroglyphs in Cholpon-Ata. If you are into history, also visit the Historical Museum of Cholpon Ata covers the wide range of Kyrgyz history.
The Equestrian Hippodrome in Cholpon-Ata is located 270 kilometers from Bishkek and occupies an area of twenty-five hectares. It is the only arena in Central Asia that is located on the shore of a lake. The Hippodrome can seat 10 thousand people. The Hippodrome is equipped with a transformer substation, an external electric network, wells for drinking and waste management, 181 surveillance cameras, and security and fire alarms. The arena is fully equipped for telephone and internet service. The project is unique in that it is the first to be constructed in such a short time period in Kyrgyzstan, that it holds not only national but international importance, and was constructed in accordance with all applicable norms and standards. Built in 1930s and closed in 2003, the Abandoned Airport of Cholpon Ata, the old runway that is slowly being taken over by the nature. Nice place for arty photoshoot.
